I’m Chris Elvidge and I have been in Managing Director and Finance Director roles in the Motor Industry for over 25 years across several large groups covering many different Franchises. I launched the Marketplace Club in 2018 with the aim of helping smaller dealer groups and single site operations compete on a level playing field with their bigger competitors.

Having dealt with many different suppliers of products and services I have used my long term relationships with key suppliers to negotiate preferential terms available to the Marketplace Club members that are usually only achievable with committed large volumes of business or to large groups.

We all know that the key to good working relationships with suppliers is not just about price – it is about them working alongside you as long term partners, helping you grow, improve your performance whilst keeping your costs under control. That is why each of these suppliers have been personally hand picked by me. I have first hand knowledge of each and everyone of the companies and or people involved with them. I can therefore assure you that their service and support will be Industry leading.

Yes as the Club grows I will be approaching other suppliers I know to join the Club.

I will be reviewing the market on a regular basis and I would also encourage feedback from members to ensure the offers remain competitive.

As the prices and service of the suppliers need to be explain in detail and indeed are commercially sensitive it was felt this is best done by direct contact with the supplier.

You can select in the application form how you want to be contacted and how often.

All of the suppliers have been personally used by me in the past few years and have been selected for their performance as well as their competitive pricing.

No you are free to use as many or as few as you wish.

The initial sign is for a period of 12 months, after that you are free to cancel your membership and leave the scheme. If in the 12 months you can show me you have tried to use a number of suppliers but failed to reach agreement in terms then I will be more than happy to cancel your membership of the club as our aim to provide something that both members and suppliers want to be part of and benefit from.

As part of the price negotiation I have confirmed to suppliers they will be the solus supplier of their goods or services.

Yes, I will be looking to broaden the goods and services covered in the future whilst keeping to the ethos of known suppliers.

All franchised dealers are eligible to join the scheme but I will not exclude independent used car operations if they fit with the Club’s ethos.
